The Miracle at Nain – Follow Jesus
When Jesus went to a city called Nain, His disciples and a large crowd walked with Him. Near the city gate they met a funeral procession carrying out a young man who had died. He was the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her. This game splits that day from Luke 7:11-17 into four stages so children can walk, search and complete the words themselves and remember how the story unfolds.
How to play
- Stage 1 · Walk the road to Nain. Move with the arrow keys or the on-screen buttons and jump over stones and puddles. Collect the flowers and hearts on the way for points.
- Stage 2 · Many people have gathered at the city gate. Find the mother who is weeping and tap her. Jesus did not pass by people who were sad.
- Stage 3 · “Young man, I say to you, ____.” Choose the word card for the blank. Get it right and light spreads as the young man slowly sits up.
- Stage 4 · For 30 seconds, tap the balloons as they float up. The crowd cheers louder and louder, leading to the scene of the people giving glory to God.
- At the end you receive the verse of the day with your score and stars. Mistakes do not end the game, so you can always play to the end.
Bible background
Luke 7:12 tells how, as Jesus came near the gate of the city, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. In verse 13 the Lord had compassion on her and said, “Do not weep.” In verse 14 He touched the open coffin and said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” In verse 15 the one who had died sat up and began to speak, and Jesus presented him to his mother. In verse 16 fear came upon everyone, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen up among us,” and, “God has visited His people.” Verse 17 says the report about Him went throughout all Judea and the surrounding region.
