A Place for God to Dwell
God told Moses, “Let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. According to all that I show you, that is, the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings, just so you shall make it” (Exodus 25:8-9). The tabernacle was not built any old way; it was made exactly by the pattern God showed. In this game you enter the courtyard by the east gate, pass the bronze altar and the basin, open the curtain into the Holy Place, set the lampstand, the table and the altar of incense in their places, and walk on beyond the last curtain into the Most Holy Place.
How to play
- Stage 1 · Order — starting from the east gate, choose in walking order: the altar, the basin, the tabernacle door curtain, the Holy Place, the veil and the Most Holy Place.
- Stage 2 · Position — the view moves inside the Holy Place. Put the lampstand on the south side, the table on the north side and the altar of incense in front of the veil.
- Stage 3 · Meaning — seven places in the tabernacle light up one by one. Choose what each place was for from three options.
- Finish all three stages and the whole tabernacle lights up. You earn stars depending on how many mistakes you made.
Bible background
The bronze altar is the first thing you meet on entering the courtyard (Exodus 27:1-8), and the basin stood between the tabernacle and the altar so the priests could wash their hands and feet (Exodus 30:18-21). Inside the Holy Place the lampstand stood on the south side and the table on the north side (Exodus 26:35), and the altar of incense stood before the veil that hid the Most Holy Place, where incense was burned morning and evening (Exodus 30:6-8). Beyond the veil, in the Most Holy Place, was the ark of the covenant (Exodus 26:33).
